Retro Gaming: The Path of Neo
Time of some retro gaming! Today a game that is not yet so very retro, also a game that I doubt many of you will have played. Mostly because the first reaction you would have had it: “A movie based game? Not on my watch!”, but trust me, the game that I will be discussing here is really worth playing!
So the path of Neo is a game which allows you to replay the entire Matrix trilogy. You start as Thomas Anderson, a computer programmer, escaping from the agents trying to snatch you. As in the movie you work yourself ’till the point you become “the anomaly” (you are the one you know).
But the game is so great because it isn’t exactly as the movies are. There are dozens of “what if” scenes. To give you a small example, what is Thomas Anderson was able to escape from his office building? You can actually do that in the game. There are also a lot of scenes in the game which are not in the movie.
Remember when Neo sits in the chair in the Nebuchadnezzar ? And programs are downloaded to his brain? Well, the game allows you to play a few training missions which were not in the movie. Some of them very Mortal Kombat based…
Besides that, there are also a lot of scenes from the movies that you can/have to replay. Remember the epic battle between Neo and the hundreds of Agent Smiths? Well that’s one of the scenes you can replay. Pretty funky don’t you think?
If you do not take everything too serious in this game you will have a bunch of fun. I guarantee.
Although I have to say this game comes with a few bugs. You’ll notice here and there that there are some, issues… Let’s define them as glitches in the matrix ;-). As I recall there are some patches downloadable for this game.
Don’t worry about the game specs, this game is a few years old and you should be able to run it just fine on your computer or laptop. In case you wondered, it also exists for playstation 2.
As usual I’ll show you a gameplay movie. This will give you a much better idea of the things I’m trying to explain here.
So, give it a go and let me know if you liked it.
