Do you want to 3nl4rgE your m4l3 t00ls from sender P. 3niS.
Every had those mails? Lovely isn’t it… It happens to each and every one of us. No matter how many precautions you take, somewhere along the way you will receive spam messages.
Can you help it? Well, you can do a few thing, or rather don’t do a few things so you’ll get less SPAM messages.
Important to know is, ofcourse, how you get in SPAM mailinglists. And the answer, is I’m afraid, painfully simple.
Ever place your e-mail address on a forum or a blog for that matter ;-). Well “spammers” have programs, called spiders. These programs just read websites and are looking for certain text patterns, in the form of an e-mail address.
So if you ever need to put your e-mail address on a website, post it in the form of an images. Spiders won’t be able to read it then.
If you happen to receive a spam message. DO NOT reply on this message. This will get you even more spam. Spammers don’t care if you send them an e-mail filled with reasons why you don’t want to get these e-mails anymore. If you reply this is just a confirmation for them that your e-mail address is actually used. So don’t do that.
Install anti spam software. Now normally your ISP and mailhost has already installed this for you. And your e-mail client has anti spam software by default as well. But something extra won’t hurt anyone.. right?
One last thing, for the love of god NEVER open a link in a SPAM message.
That is just asking for trouble
